Description
Freeze cells in tubes from 1.2 to 2mL using the Nalgene 5100-0001 Mr. Frosty trade; Freezing Container. This Cryo Freezing Container is inexpensive, reusable and convenient for freezing biological samples at the recommended controlled rate of cooling, -1°C/minute. Isopropyl alcohol is necessary to achieve the recommended rate of cooling. The simple to use system is designed to achieve a rate of cooling very close to the optimal rate for cell preservation. No contact with the alcohol: no wicking, no label removal and no compromise of tube hand printing.
Saves precious freezer space during the cooling process. Screw top lid secures samples inside in the event of accidental container tipping. Eliminates unreliable, improvised foam container devices.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
At what temperature should my Mr. Frosty controlled rate cell freezing container be when I start freezing cells?
For best cooling rate performance, the entire system should be at room temperature just prior to freezing.
Should I retain or discard the foam insert in my Mr. Frosty controlled rate cell freezing container?
The white foam insert serves no purpose other than to make the printed instructions on the jar easier to read. Its presence or absence will not affect the cooling rate, and so it can be discarded.
