Enzyme Immunoassay
Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA), also known as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), is a common analytical technique used to detect and quantify specific target molecules, such as proteins or antigens, in a sample. It involves coating a microplate with a specific antibody, washing to remove unbound molecules, adding an enzyme-linked antibody for detection, reacting with a substrate to produce a measurable signal, and then measuring the signal intensity to determine the target molecule's concentration. EIAs are widely used in medical diagnostics, research, and pharmaceutical industries for their sensitivity and specificity in analyzing various analytes.
