Drum Feed Clamps Compatibilty
Chemical Feed Safety Drum Locks - Filter Chemical Resistance Guidance & Ratings
The data summarized below is derived from direct testing of products and extrapolation of data available on the chemical resistance of the base polymer used in our Chemical Feed Safety Drum Lock inner filters. The outer clamp is polypropylene (see compatibility for PP here.) The inner filters are all made of a closed-cell, cross linked LDPE Plastazote®, with chemical resistance rated below.
Please note: The data in this table should only be used for guidance purposes. If chemical resistance is critical we recommend testing of the material under end use conditions to determine the suitability of the foam for a specific application.
The ratings given in the table are based on exposure at 20°C. The effects of each chemical have been graded from A to F using the following system:
Grade |
Effect |
LDPE Plastizote Foam life expectancy |
A |
Virtually no effect |
Satisfactory for long term continuous contact over several years |
B |
Minimal effect |
Satisfactory for continuous contact over several months |
C |
Some effect w/ noticeable deterioration |
Satisfactory for intermittent contact; Continuous contact several weeks |
D |
Substantial effect |
Satisfactory for short term contact; Continuous contact several days |
F |
Catastrophic effect |
Not recommended expect for incidental contact; Deterioration within hours |
