Description
Large Trebuchet DIY Kit, 21" Beam Arm Launches up to 30 Feet!, STEM Learning, Explore Gravitational Potential Energy, Projectile Motion & Energy Transformation. The Eisco® Garage Physics line is aimed at students interested in STEM concepts included physics and engineering. Each kit engages learners to discover new ideas about the physical world through assembly and play.
Medieval weapons, engineering, and physics - not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon constructing this trebuchet which will throw the included ping pong ball more than 30 feet and heavier objects farther. The trebuchet is one of the most elegant of all medieval weapons ever invented. With a simple counterweight, beam arm, and sling, heavier projectiles can be launched much further than is possible with much more complicated siege engines. The key to this success is the efficiency with which the gravitational potential energy of the counterweight can be converted to kinetic energy of the projectile. This kit explores simple concepts of energy transformation with thrilling effect.
Kit includes base plate, 2 A-frame supports, 4 wheel, beam arm, 3/8" diameter dowel, release pin, leather pouch, string, 1 kg counterweight, counterweight pin, 4 wooden pins (for wheels), 4 wood screws (for supports), and 1 ping pong ball, cardboard storage box and instructions for assembly and experimental activities.
- EXPLORE GRAVITATIONAL POTENTIAL ENERGY: Medieval weapons, engineering, and physics - not a bad classroom learning activity, or way to spend a Saturday afternoon. This trebuchet which will throw the included ping pong ball more than 30 feet (or heavier objects even farther!). This kit allows learners to explore simple concepts of energy transformation with thrilling effect
- STEM LEARNING: Introduces and demonstrates real world STEM concepts. Allows students of all ages to explore and visualize gravitational potential energy, projectile motion and energy transformation
- WHAT'S IN THE BOX?: Kit includes base plate, A-frame supports, 4 wheels, beam arm, dowel, release pin, leather pouch, string, counterweight, counterweight pin, wooden pins (for wheels), wood screws (for supports), ping pong ball, cardboard storage box and instructions for assembly and experimental activities
- ENGAGING & FUN: An excellent activity for classrooms. Each kit engages learners to discover new ideas about the physical world through assembly and play
