Quick-Disconnect Safety Disposal Cans are one of the safest ways to collect liquid HPLC waste because they do not allow the waste to evaporate into the air and pollute the workplace like open waste containers. These safety cans have a “quick-disconnect” mechanism that allows the user to disconnect from the HPLC line without having to disengage tubing already connected to the machine. Adapters are valved to prevent vapor release or solvent leakage.
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106(a)(29) states that: “Safety can shall mean an approved container, of not more than 5 gallons capacity, having a spring-closing lid and spout cover and so designed that it will safely relieve internal pressure when subjected to fire exposure.”
